19 of the Russian's 21 titles have been achieved on hardcourt

A resurgent Medvedev won his initial championship for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

The Russian, a former number one, has experienced a difficult season, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the New York tournament.

The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.

Now training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Moutet.

This represents his maiden title after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court from that period of 2023.

Success also signifies Medvedev has won twenty-one victories at 21 distinct tournaments.

"It's the first time I have attended a event with my both daughters at once, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I won when my child her name was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six finals, including in the German tournament previously this season.

Medvedev's defensive approach and frequent emotional displays on court had prompted some to wonder if his capacity to play at the elite level was finished.

Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to come to the net and compete positively, reinforced by an better service.

He came back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky opponent, securing 4 of the last five games to go ahead.

Both players exchanged breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial professional championship, seized the initiative to create a decider.

Moutet defended 4 early break points in a close final set before the champion won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Suitably, Medvedev clinched the title with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
